(Hint - it’s not just the planet that will see the benefits, you will too!)
Toxic ingredients Conventional deodorants and antiperspirants typically contain toxic ingredients such as parabens, aluminium and triclosan. We wouldn’t dare swallow a mouthful of these chemicals, so why are we putting them on our skin?
Roll-on vs aerosol
Aerosols are a big NO. A recent study looking into the release of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) found that household aerosols, such as antiperspirants, were more polluting and damaging to the air quality than cars! And roll-ons aren’t much better. They’re normally always made from non-recyclable plastic. Basically, both options are an environmental nightmare!
Making the switch to a natural deodorant is not without its issues – your body will go through a brief period of sweating more than you’re used to and you may find yourself reaching for your old trusty, non eco-friendly deodorant. But just hold out, as natural deodorant actually works… really well. If you can persevere through the initial stage, people have reported sweating less than when they used antiperspirant!
It’s all about finding the right natural deodorant that works for you.
